Manifestation: a different perspective

When I was a kid, I was constantly told that I had an overactive imagination… like it was a bad thing.

When I watched a film, I became fully invested and lived the plot with the characters on the screen, so much so that it took me a while to disengage when it was over.

Walking home on my own late in the evening after watching Carrie was probably not my best move.

As I discovered the absolute joy of reading, my life was transformed by other worlds with dragons and orcs, and I always chose fiction that took me out of the mundane into complete fantasy.

In my work now, I still use the power of my imagination during meditation, painting an image onto someone else’s mind’s eye so that they too can escape and have some rest from the everyday world—somewhere to be inspired and healed using colours and sounds that don’t exist anywhere else.

My imagination is now one of my cherished tools.

And here’s a really clever thing I’ve learned: our brain/mind doesn’t know the difference between imagined and real.

Crazy, huh?

And even though that might seem far-fetched or ridiculous to some, it’s actually true.

So, like me walking home at dusk imagining all sorts of scary things ready to pounce, we can bring whatever image we conjure in our heads to life by just thinking about them.

And then the universe will respond by matching that belief and providing what’s needed to keep that energy flowing!

The Law of Attraction!

It blows up the common misconception that if we ask and ask and beg and appear desperate to have what we want in our lives, the universe will take pity and give it to us. That’s not its job; we only have to immerse ourselves in the feeling of already having that life. Really get into the flow and detail of how it feels, and the big U will step up to match it.

I still stand by what I’ve said before: you have to put the work in. Show the intent and use integrity to work for your highest good, but surely it’s got to be worth a try.

Your imagination can literally give you everything you need in this life… go add some color and see what a difference it makes.
